Scholarship in Switzerland for International Students

Switzerland is one of the most attractive destination for international students. There are worldwide prestigious universities and courses. Most of the universities of Switzerland offers the scholarships for international students to support financially and encourage to study in Switzerland. 1. UNIL Master’s Grants in Switzerland for Foreign Students

The University of Lausanne in Switzerland offers the UNIL Master’s Grants to international students who wants to get Master’s Degree at the university. This university provides all Master’s programme except some fields of study. Those field of study which are not included in this University are; Master from the School of Medicine, Master of Education, Master of Law and Master of criminal Law.

Around 10 number of scholarships are available. The scholarship amount is CHF 1,600 per month for a duration of study.

2. Jim Ellert MBA Scholarship at IMD

This program is hosted by IMD Switzerland which provides Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Degree. The main aim of program is to attract students from Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and the South-Eastern Peninsula.

The number of scholarship is only one. The selected candidate will receive CHF 20,000 as a scholarship for a duration of study.

3. Nestle MBA Scholarships for Women from Developing Countries

The Nestle Scholarship for Women was firstly began in 1997 with the aim of encouraging women from developing countries to take part in MBA Degree. This scholarship program is hosted by IMD Switzerland.

For this program only the women from developing countries are eligible. There is only one scholarship is available. The selected women will receive scholarship of CHF 25,000.

4. IMD MBA Class Scholarship for Emerging Markets

This program is offering a new and considerable program to enable young leaders from emerging markets. This program is hosted by IMD Switzerland which provide MBA Degree.

The number of scholarship are not specified and citizens of developing countries can take part in this program. The total amount of scholarships is CHF 200,000 and this amount is split between the winners of the scholarship.

5. IMD MBA Future Leaders Scholarship

The IMD MBA Future Leaders Scholarships provide MBA Degree to those candidate who demonstrate leadership understanding. IMD Switzerland is conducting this scholarship program.

Every year, three scholarships are awarded to students from all over the world. The selected candidate will receive scholarship amount of CHF 30,000 for duration of study.

6.   University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships

The Faculty of Science of the University of Geneva in collaboration with several sponsors, has established this fellowship program to support outstanding candidates. The host institution of this program is University of Geneva in Switzerland. The field of study includes; Masters of Science Programme in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Physics.

The number of awards are not specified. All students including international students with very good performance in their studies are eligible for this program. The scholarship holder students will receive scholarship amount ranges from CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000 per year.

7. EPFL Excellence Fellowships

This program provides limited number of fellowships at the Master’s level Degree. This program is hosted by Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland. The field of study includes all eligible Master’s Programme offered at University. 

Anyone holding bachelor degree in related field from a recognized university are eligible for this fellowship. The scholarship includes CHF 16,000 per academic year.

Note that accommodation, tuition fees, visa fees, etc. are not included in this program.

8. ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarships

This program is hosted by ETH Zurich in Switzerland which support excellent students to get Master’s Degree.  ETH conducts two scholarship programme: the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP) and the Master Scholarship Programme. Eligible fields of study are offered by the university.

The number of scholarships depends on the availability of funds. The Excellence Scholarship consists of CHF 11,000 per semester and the Masters scholarships consists of CHF 6,000 per semester.

9. IO-MBA Program Scholarships at University of Geneva

This scholarship is hosted by the University of Geneva in Switzerland targeted to all international students. The main Aim of this scholarship is to encourage and provide the facilitate to the participating candidates coming from abroad for the higher study. Any international students who want to undertake International Organization Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Geneva.

The international candidates, candidates from developing countries, and the candidates working in a Nonprofit Organization are eligible for this program. The number of scholarship awards are not specified. The Scholarship holder will receive scholarship amount ranges from CHF 5,000 to CHF 7,900.

10. Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Students

Out of 10 Swiss cantonal universities, the two Swiss federal institutes of technology or public teaching and research institutes are conducting this scholarship program. They provide scholarships in Doctoral or Postdoctoral Studies or Research in any discipline for international students from more than 180 countries.

The scholarship program provide a monthly payment, tuition fees, health insurance, air fare, housing allowance etc. to scholarship holder.

11. University of Bern Masters Grants for International Students

The University of Bern in Switzerland is providing six Master Grants to the students of its international partners. The field of includes all Masters Programme offered at University of Bern except Biomedical Science and Medicine.

The University of Bern offers six scholarship for the students except the resident of Switzerland of the university’s international partners. The recipient of this scholarship will receive a monthly Stipend of CHF1,600 which covers a tuition fees for the entire duration of studies.
